Evaluation

After wearing the measuring devices for one week, the panellists send them back to the fieldwork institute, where the data is retrieved, validated, matched against the sound samples and fed into a database that authorised users can access online. The data is put online after a delay of 18 days. TV data is available the morning after it is gathered. This is possible because TV research employs a standing panel with home measuring devices and combines it with overnight data retrieval. In the case of radio research, a delay of 18 days optimises returns from the field.

The software used to query the data is the proprietary New Media Reporter.

List of radio stations included in the survey:

  • all stations of the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation (SRG SSR)
  • all stations with a permanent licence, as defined by the Federal Office for Communication (this includes all commercial and some non-commercial stations). Stations with a temporary licence (e.g., festival stations) may be included upon request.
  • all major broadcasters, both private and state-owned, of neighbouring countries
