Functions
Since January 2009, Mediapulse Corporation has been using the New Establishment Survey (NES) as a new way to establish the distribution of devices and transmission media for receiving TV and radio stations in Switzerland. This survey serves three key functions within Mediapulse Corporation’s research system:
- The NES provides the basic information required for operating the measuring panel for establishing radio and TV use, thus replacing the Establishment Survey that was launched by the SRG SSR Research Department in 2002 and continued by Mediapulse Corporation through 2008.
- The NES provides the Federal Office of Communications (OFCOM) with data on the distribution of conventional and new methods of TV and radio reception and their use by Switzerland’s population, thus meeting a key requirement imposed on the foundation for use research by the new Federal Act on Radio and Television.
- The NES aids in recruiting persons made available to Mediapulse Corporation’s Taxibus, which was also launched in 2009, as members of a survey pool.
